Light & Lit: An 18th-Century Style Book Launch

This past Saturday at 4 o’clock, if you happened to step inside 222 Charlotte Street, you would have stepped back a few centuries. Allegro Grill & Deli transformed itself into an 18th-Century French bistro for two magical hours for the launch of A. J. B. Johnston’s latest book, Thomas: A Secret Life.

Allegro chef Jared Wolfe prepared delicious French hors d’oeuvres, using recipes from Anne Marie Lane Jonah and Chantal Véchambre’s new book French Taste in Atlantic Canada. Scroll down and have a look at what happened at the launch.

Sandy Anthony from the Fortress of Louisbourg sets the mood for the launch with her enchanting music.
