Frank Robertson, 1903-1992, was known for his weekly column in the Cape Breton Post, entitled “For The Birds,” along with his broadcasts on birds and animal life over Radio Station CBI in Sydney and CBH Halifax. Many of these columns were published in Birds On A Rock by the University College of Cape Breton Press in 1992. Readers of his columns will recognize his style of writing in the prose comments accompanying most of the poems in The Humble Bowl, poems that were culled from over seventy years of occasional poetry writing.
