Talking railways in HRM – two presentations
This Friday and Saturday, Herb MacDonald will be giving talks at 2 HRM libraries:
Friday, Nov 15 / 12 noon, Spring Garden Road Memorial Public Library, Halifax Halifax as a Railway Terminus: 1854-2013 This talk will examine the rise and decline of the railways that connected the port of Halifax to the interiors of Nova Scotia and Canada.
Saturday, Nov 16 / 10 a.m., Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library The Golden Age of Nova Scotia Railways: 1890-1960 This program will look at the evolution of the Canadian National and Dominion Atlantic systems, branches like the Musquodoboit line, and the impacts of railways on Nova Scotia communities.
These are free presentations open to all.
