Arn? Narn! Faces and Voices of Atlantic Inshore Fishers
Out of Print
One sunny afternoon as Tom Roach sketched at Petty Harbour, Newfoundland, he heard a man on the wharf yell to a man in a boat. “Arn?” The reply was “Narn!” Are there any? No, there aren’t! Arn? Narn! Faces and Voices of Atlantic Inshore Fishers is a visual record – Tom did pen and ink sketches of the fishers – and an oral record of their answers to three questions: What caused the cod crisis? How has it affected you? and What changes would you recommend? The introduction explains the groundfish fishery and how it differs from other types of fishing.
