“Sharing Knowledge on Agriculture and Rural Life in Atlantic Canada” was a conference held in Mabou, Nova Scotia, in 2006, focused on elements of rurality-interdependence and mutual support-essential to vibrant communities. This collection of essays from that conference brings together social and scientific aspects of rural life in Atlantic Canada. The concepts of community and efficiency provide ways in which people’s experiences can be harmonized with the possibilities for sustainability in agriculture and rural life in Atlantic Canada.
