Mike Hunter
Mike Hunter, Editor-in-Chief at CBU Press (retired), has an MA in Communication and Culture from York and Ryerson universities. Mike has lived in Cape Breton since 1984 and has been associated with the university since 1996. He took over as Editor-in-Chief in January 2003, guiding the Press from publishing four books annually in 2003 to ten books annually by 2016. Although Mike has a varied career history, his related experience includes managing editor of a small-town newspaper, freelance for the Halifax Chronicle Herald and other periodicals and has published several articles in academic presses. Mike lives in West Bay, Cape Breton. When not hunched over a manuscript, he may be found on the trails: hiking in summer, skiing in winter.
